Bayern Industries is the umbrella body for the Boki Agricultural Farmers, and Okundi Gas. The formation of the Company came up when it was noticed that existing Agricultural Farmers Associations/ Cooperatives in Nigeria then were disorganized and lack coordinating structure. Thus, the need to protect the interest of the Boki Agricultural Farmers via a big umbrella led to the formation of Bayern Industries.

Bayern Industries operates a membership-based model, offering a wide selection of services in various categories, including a free seedling distribution program, hand pollination, mass spraying, mass pruning, and best prices for members produce and ensure maximum margin for members from their cocoa sales. The membership-based model primarily generates its revenue from membership fees, service fees, equipment rental fees, and the exportation of cocoa beans directly to manufacturers. We continue to provide our members with high-quality products and services, at competitive prices.

Our Aims and Objectives

1. To safeguard the socio-economic interests of its members nationwide.

2. To revitalize aging cocoa trees using the latest agro-chemical and modern technological practices for increased cocoa output.

3. To ensure high quality cocoa produce in Boki and minimize post-harvest losses.

4. To engage in sourcing, procurement, and distribution of high-quality inputs at affordable prices and at the right time for members in Boki.

5. To encourage mutual self-help among members and assist in securing loans at low interest rates and grants-in-aid from both national and international organizations.

6. To have a rapport with any organization with similar objectives internationally.

7. To provide forum for exchange of ideas among farmers and between farmers and all other bodies in the development of cocoa production in Boki.

8. To encourage members to always seek advice from the government Extension Agencies for the applications of research findings on Cocoa development.

9. Represent Boki cocoa farmers in seminars, trade fairs, and exhibitions at state, national, and international levels.

10. To ensure market outlets and best prices for members, produce and ensure maximum margin for members from their cocoa sales.

11. To protect members against intermediaries’ exploitation.

12. To give necessary Local, National and International Information and coordination towards profitable sale and disposal of farmers products.

13. To liaise and encourage private investors to invest in Cocoa allied processing / industrial production.

14. Organize professional training for farmers through seminars, workshops, conferences, and demonstrations for Boki Cocoa farmers.

15. To encourage members in keeping good records of the cost of production for the purpose of data collection and determining profitable prices for their product.

16. To have significant input into all Federal, State and Local Governments’ policies on cocoa production in Boki for the greater benefits of cocoa farmers.

17. To encourage and advise governments to give input support to farmers in accordance with the trend in developing and developed countries

18. In a situation where governments neglect to protect the farmers, the Company shall be a buyer of last resort to protect cocoa farmers against glut and ridiculous low prices.

19. To support all government and international positive policies for the promotion of cocoa production and cocoa farmers interests.

20. To undertake other functions that shall promote cocoa development and production in Boki and defend cocoa farmers’ interest generally.

21. Free seedling distribution program – every year, Bayern Industries raises disease tolerant hybrid cocoa seedlings for distribution to farmers free of charge. The initiative is aimed at increasing cocoa production and incomes of cocoa farmers. Distribution of the seedlings to farmers is mostly done from May – July every year to enable farmers plant them. 

22. Introduce mass spraying to control black pod disease and mirids (capsids) to prevent their effects on cocoa production. The program will come at no cost to the farmers. Only mapped farms in good condition will be considered under this exercise.

23.Mass pruning is one of the Productivity Enhancement Programs that Bayern Industries will introduce to the Boki Cocoa farmers. Pruning is the act of removing excess branches from a cocoa tree as a way of ensuring good farm maintenance practice.
